Finding Sources The best place to start is Yahoogroups. Using their search function type in BARF or Raw Diet (that one produces more non-canine related groups) and see what comes up. There are over 160 email lists all pertaining to raw feeding. Lists for those feeding senior dogs, breed specific lists, lists based on locations. If there is a list for your location it’s a great place to start. These are people in your area who already know the good sources. They post about sales at local stores, new suppliers, and more. There is one list on Yahoogroups specifically for those that can supply items for the raw diet: Another great source is the following website: International Purveyors Index. This website lists, by state, suppliers of meat, poultry and more. Some of these suppliers will not sell to the public – you only know if you call. Most of these places sell in bulk only so be prepared to buy a case of this or that. If you don’t have a freezer, see if anyone in your area also feeds raw and wants to split an order with you. Ask you local grocery store if they would be willing to place special orders for you. See if they can order buy the case (if you can handle cases). Ethnic grocers usually have quite a variety of meat for sale. Look in your phone book under Butchers, Meat Wholesalers, and Purveyors. These are just some ideas on how to find the good stuff in your area!
